Did you know breakfast is the most important meal of the day? Eating breakfast are more likely to participate in physical activities.
Have you ever wondered when is the best time to eat breakfast? The best time to have breakfast is within two hours after waking up. Having breakfast after you wake up is better for your metabolism and decreasing appetite throughout the day.
Skipping breakfast may (to some people) deplete energy levels and productivity. In my opinion, everyone has a different type of body metabolism.
Research shows that the body’s energy source is glucose. Glucose is broken down and absorbed from the carbohydrates you eat. The body stores most of its energy as fat. But your body also stores some glucose as glycogen, most of it in your liver, with smaller amounts in your muscles.
During times of fasting (not eating), such as overnight, the liver breaks down glycogen and releases it into your bloodstream as glucose to keep your blood sugar levels stable.
Furthermore, the National Institutes of Health published a study showing that people who skip breakfast tend to lose valuable nutrients and vitamins such as Vitamin A and D, calcium, magnesium, iron, zinc and phosphorous.
When these nutrients are deficient, you could experience insomnia, depression and be more susceptible to infection.
So, Should You Skip Breakfast?
The answer is, Yes and No. It is depends solely on your lifestyle and health habits. If you feel that you will not be able to make up the nutrients in your later meals, you should not skip breakfast.
By attention to the snacks you choose later. If the snacks you are choosing are healthy, that is perfect!
